AvantGo Help....please.....

    Default AvantGo Help....please.....

    OK, I've had this working before with an older Palm, but for some reason I can't get it working on my Toshiba PocketPC. This is the first time that I've tried to sync AvantGo in quite some time, and the first time ever on a PocketPC, so I'm not sure if anything has changed.

    This is what I've done so far:

    1) I set up an account with AvantGo
    2) I added about 12 channels (less than 2mb total)
    3) I added AvantGo as as part of my ActiveSync
    4) I set up AvantGo:
    - Hostname: sync.avantgo.com
    - Port 80
    - My username is set as is my password
    - I have Connect to this server during sync and Refresh all Context at next sync
    5) When I sync I see that it says connection successfull but when I go to my pda under ActiveSync, it says "AvantGo content was not found on your Pocket PC"

    I don't know why it said that. I checked the Windows\AvantGo folder and there were a bunch of subfolders, each with a "0" and "STAMP" files in each, 1kb in size.

    Now, from what I've read from other posts, people have had to do hard resets to get it working. Is this really true? I have never used AvantGo yet and I only have a handfull of apps installed. I hope there is a better solution.

    Had a similiar problem with mine. Went to Avantgo website and downloaded their current version of it. After that installed over old one. Synced and no luck. What did I do to get it to work? I turned off my computer, came back in the morning to sync and it loaded just fine. Try rebooting your desktop and see if that works/helps.
    Trust is hard won, easily lost and never fully regained.

    Try uninstalling the version of avantgo u installed when u used your palm.

    AvantGo's tech support ranks with the most clueless on Earth...

    It completely boggles my mind that they would suggest doing a hard-reset among all things to solve this problem.

    There are so many problems with Avantgo, while it only does very simple things...

    Anyway, there is a simple solution here

    Thank you for the information. I'm going to read through that link which you provided.

    Yes, AvantGo is buggy but it's the only solution for now (well, maybe NetFront with that autobrowse feature but it messes up the format of the pages).

    I'll let you guys know how it goes.
