Re: long time lurker . . . .
Hi there,
I am also a long time lurker of Spyro's work.
I also had an issue (Hello world message) with the bootloader downloaded from Spyro's site. The problem with it is that it looking for the "param" file at the root of the CF CARD. I found that last night and now can boot Linux on my e750. In my case, with the instructions on Spyro's site, toutch screen works fine, and I am now working to make the USB host work to get at least a keyboard and hopefully WIFI working.

Re: Linux on Toshiba e-Series
Thanks for the feedback guys,
e800 touchscreen is currently on my TODO. something broke it recently, I'll have to check. IIRC the same thing happened to the e7xx touchscreen, because the codec uses the 'main' channel to set up the AC97 clock, and not the aux one to which the codec is attached.
since e-serties is in the odd position right now of having an aux channel with no main channel (because the codec code isnt done yet) the AC97 clock isnt set up.
I hacked the e7xx (wm9705) driver to do this but probably didnt do the wm9712 driver (as used in the e800).
I've just got back from holiday and it looks like a handful of my MFD patches got merged by the MFD maintainer whilst I was away, so thats improving too now.
I'll have a look at e8xx (well, wm9712) touchscreen later tonight now that its occurred to me what the problem is...-Spyro

Re: Linux on Toshiba e-Series
Well I picked my moment... Im now waiting on a massive reorganisation of the linux headers that begun whilst I was away.
Once the dust has settled I'll get the rest of my patches submitted.
Right now though, all the TMIO cores used in e3xx to e8xx are in the MFD tree or the mainstream kernel, minus some patches to the 6393 driver, and I've got a small handful of patches waiting to go into RMKs tree.
Once all those are done, I can really focus on the rest of the hardware. (IrDA is done on e7xx for example).-Spyro

Re: Linux on Toshiba e-Series
Looks like most of the header reorganisation is over as of later tonight. I'll reformat my patchset and send it to RMK after that hopefully, which will mean:
1) mainline support for MMC and NAND in the next kernel on pretty much ALL e-series machines
2) IrDA on all e7xx
3) less out-of-tree maintainance to bog down development (huge sigh of relief).
Hopefully I'll get the USB driver merged pretty soon too.-Spyro

Re: Linux on Toshiba e-Series
MMC, NAND, T7L, TC63{83,97} support are all in mainline in useable form!
I need to clean up and push out the platform drivers for the PDAs for these chips, but basically, the IO side of things is done.
I dont know if Dmitry or I will do the USB driver - depends who gets to it first I guess.
Im pushing IrDA right now.-Spyro

Re: Linux on Toshiba e-Series
Fantastic stuff. Thanks for your continued effort on this Spyro. I'm looking forward to ditching WinCE on my e800!
Cheers,

Re: Linux on Toshiba e-Series
Hi Spyro!
Got linux running on my e740 with your instructions had some issues with not loading the modules.
But in your prebuilt modules I cant find the wifi driver?
(orinoco_cs.o) How do I get it? Could you maybe
build a new modules package?
Could you maybe write a short instruction how to clone
the source code with git and how to compile and update?
Sorry if it is stupid questions, im not a kernelhacker.....
