    Default Backup battery dead?

    Me again...
    just one doubt:
Is the backup battery replaceable? 'cause, at least mine, does not work. take out and then back on battery for an instant and voila, a just hard reseted e740.
    thx.
My very old dx2/66 works faster than pxa250. My old pentium mmx 120 works faster than any pxa272 i've seen. Bad PXA architecture or windows sweet windows.

The manual says it lasts only a few seconds anyway.

The backup battery is soldered in. In theory, that makes it replaceable, but it is by no means an easy task.

The battery is NOT meant to last very long at all. It was designed such that one could take out the main battery and within 5 seconds or so replace the main battery. If you're wanting to take out your main battery and make sure you don't lose anything, perhaps you can have the PDA plugged in either via the AC adapter or the activesync port??? She'll survive just fine if plugged in.

The backup battery also tends to be the last thing to be charged. Perhaps it just hasn't got charged recently...

I've replaced mine. Its just a standard rechargable battery. It's true, its soldered in, but I just wrenched mine out with pliers and taped it in using electrical tape. (Sounds terrible, but it works fine.)

Look for my previous posts for more info.
