I am pretty sure as a side effect you can watch SAT-TV on the e740 now also.

Hey, don't laugh. I tried the modification, and it works. The only drawback was the big f&%king hole I had to cut in my $75 case, not to mention the hole it dug into my pants pocket. (Just kidding, AndrewJ)

    What is that thing anyway?

It seems to me, that someone did in fact open up thier 740 about a year ago to attempt a speaker mod of some sort, anyone remember this?

I found just using the pre-amp on music software has the same effect without making you look a complete prat (no offence).

Is the e750 as quiet as the 740? (guessing so as they are almost identicle externally).

The 750 is *actually* pretty loud...a subjective observation, of course. In a quiet room (only A/C fans, etc.) 10 x 12 ft., you can hear it OK everywhere if it's standing up and the spkr. is facing in your general direction. Source material matters-some streaming sites are "in the mud" as the saying goes, and others are much better. If it's low coming off the 'net, there's not much you can do about making it louder when everything's maxed.

Upgrading from 2k2 to 2k3 definitely made it even louder.

The 750 is louder than the 740 but not nearly as loud as any iPAQ i've heard. It still is too muted.
