    Default Travel Size Travel Charger

Can anyone out there recommend a 'travel size' travel charger. The one Toshiba sells as it's 'travel charger' is about as big and heavy as the pda itself <slight overexaggeration>.

I was hoping to find something with basically a plug and a cable...without that 'brick' in between.

    Thanks!

What's wrong with the power supply that comes with the sync cradle? The circuitry brick isn't that big, and it plugs straight into my e740.

You need some kind of circuitry to convert the 120ac to what the PDA wants, my guess is there has to be a small package to do that somewhere along the power cable.

I know this is proberly not what you want but I bought myself the USB Sync cabel with adapter for the car.

So you plug in the USB Cable to your cigarret lighter. Works perfect for me and was only 15$ (or so) at Fry's.

Depends on how you travel, maybe with car....

EDIT: I just saw that on the site you posted the USB power sync cable was 30$!!! Look at Fry's you get that cheaper and with car adapter!

The USB Car adapter is a neat idea...thanks.

And as to the size of the adapter that comes with the cradle...IMHO it's too big. I'm coming from an Ipaq 3600 and the AC adapter for it had the 'circuitry' at the plug end and a thin cable coming out the back and into the USB cradle.

But yes...bottom line is that having the AC adapter SEPARATE from the cradle (unlike some Palm devices) does give you the added flexibility of using it as a travel charger...

The Casio adapter that came with the E-1XX series is actually quite small too. That's what I bring with my e740 when I travel.

I just bought that from Fry's yesterday for $12.99, great stuff! You not only can charge in a car, but anywhere you can find a computer with USB port on it.

    Default Well, how about this.....

I can up with this idea while traveling, with 740, cell phone, HDD, and a hard drive MP3 player. And then using a keyboard and mouse needed a hub.

Browsing around at CompUSA I found a Belkin minihub (F5U217) and said...hmmmmm.... Why cant I power my 740 from a hub and forget a charger.

If I use a USB sync/power cable I could plug that in the back of the hub and power the 740. Then, if I could connect the hub to the 740 using it as the master. Then I could plug my other stuff in as needed.
