I am going to try to replace the digitizer on my old 8525. I probably should have gotten the lcd with digitizer, but I did not. This is really just a back up phone, so I wanted to try it the cheapest way. I am curious to see if I can repair it. Currently the phone works great minus the touch part But the last time I did a hard reset I thought I would never get off the calibration screen. I finally just pushed so hard I thought it might break the display.
So here is my concern:

If I take the phone apart and replace the digitizer when I turn it on, will it go through the calibration screen like after a hard reset? Or if I get it apart and realize I cannot seperate the digitizer from the display will it have to go through the calibration screen. If I do not get it fixed there is no way I can calibrate it. It does not ever respnd to touch anymore. If it does have to go through the calibration process is there a way to bypass that? That way if I do not fix it and do not damage it further I can still use it if I had to.
