    Default Good English dictionary programs?

Does anyone know of any good English-English dictionaries? Most dictionaries out there are only English-foreign languages. I just want a dictionary that allows me to look up long words I don't know.

    Thanks

Assuming you've got a bit of space on your CF card there's really only one option - OxfordCE from http://intelprog.com/oxfordce.htm

But you should be warned - it takes up a lot of space and it's an English dictionary - not an American dictionary

    Hi,

I would recommend using a dictionary via reader like the one available here : http://www.tomeraider.com/

Thereafter, d/l your choice of dictionary here :

Size is comparatively smaller than Oxford Btw, the previous post with link to Oxford seemed to be just an info page, where can one find the download for it ?

Er, that's an excellent question. It seems to have disappeared off the face of the Net.

Anybody know what happened? Did they get caught infringing on somebody's copyright?

www.handango.com sells the Oxford CE dictionary. The downloaded program worked flawlessly with my e-125.

Had email explaining that OxfordCE had been removed from distribution sites temporarily.

Angry The OxfordCE Dictionary runs flawlessly?

Well, it looks like the best one out there but for some reason it is not working properly. Whenever I go and search a word - it does not return it unless you scroll though a list of words with that starting letter first! It's very annoying and limiting. Am I doing something wrong?

If I wanted to find the word 'reincarnate' it will NOT return it unless you scroll all the way down until you get to the 'Rs' which can take forever. Is this just with the evaluation copy? Or is this how the program works? Also, choosing the thesaurus brings up nothing. I have uninstalled it and re-installed it twice, it operates in the same exact way. If this is the norm, then they really should fix it before they expect people to pay for it.

    Thumbs up

Found this thread from the other (Ipaq) discussion, http://discussion.brighthand.com/sho...ht=dictionary, the dictionary program actually works for cassiopeia as well. I guess the Ipaq guys was trying to keep it to themselves.

Any insight as to why the shortcut to OxfordCE installed in the Programs folder on my Cassiopeia E-125 seems to lose track of the program after a period of time?

I associate this problem with swapping out the CF card on which some of the files are stored. However, even when the correct CF card is in place the link does not work.
