Palm TX External Microphones for Sale!

Along with the External Microphones I've been making for the T5 and TX Palm PDA's, I'm now making a limited number of Female Mic Adapters that snap into the bottom of your Palm. The adapter allows you to use a "Lapel Mic" (not included) for dictation, or for times when it's more convenient to have your Palm in your pocket. It is a 3.5mm jack which fits "normal" mics.

Here's a picture of them beside Neil Hampton's great VoIP application called "Articulation".



With my mic or the adapter and your mic, you can now use your T5 or TX to make calls worldwide with a VoIP application, record you kids singing, tune your guitar, use your TX as a Walkie-Talkie, or even command your Palm via Voice Commands!

The price of each accessory is $20 (plus shipping and handling). In the USA, S&H is $6; international S&H ranges from $6-$12 USD.

Mobi VoIP is about to release to the public (free calls from Palm to Palm!!), my guitar tuner from my Zire 72 now works with my TX, and Voice Memo and SoundRec work great too!

You would be my first customer from Turkey! I believe the shipping will be the same for all my international shipments - $12 USD. PayPal can use several different currencies, but I'm stumped as to what you'd use in Turkey.

Brilliant work, WyreNut. I'm curious, though, how much more difficult would it be to put in a 2.5mm jack instead of a mic? I picked up a quick how to at palm info center. I know if you started making them, I'd buy both the jack and the mic versions. Something to think about I guess.

This is a totally cool idea!

I am wondering if you or someone else has ever successfully paired a BT wireless headset with a TX, so as to be able to accomplish the same thing. Please let us know of your thoughts on this.

Also, when using the mic in a phone application, do you hold the screen side to your ear, or the back side (speaker). That is, which side is the microphone on? Top or bottom?

Any idea what is up with the mobi voip web site? I was trying to inquire about their rates by calling, but couldn't get through. So I tried the web site which now doesn't seem to work. Are those who have used mobi voip still having a good user experience? Also, is there any other voip software that will work with the TX?

The mic works fantastic, I have been using one for several months now!

A word to the wise, these mics do not take well to being laundered! Always check your pockets.

Now I shall have to order another one; by chance is there a version 2.0 coming out?
