I do miss how well the BB server handled my email. Havent seen anything better. I hope they can pull it out but this looks all too deja vu to me as well.

You see, once the carriers in the US and Canada get rid of their BB infrastructure, BB is gone. For good. RIM needs to keep that infrastructure. RIM needs to get carriers vested in interest for this.

The reason why Blackberries are hot in Asia especially in Indonesia, is because of the BIS infrastructure that creates a private compressed sub internet that works with much less data usage for the carrier and the user, and which they can charge a very low monthly fee (like $10US a month equivalent and you get BBM, Facebook, Twitter and push email, no regular web however).

Their chances of survival would be much improved if BB service could be implemented on other devices, particularly the iPhone.

They are going to that new server support, that covers Android, iOS, and BB, for corporate. Perhaps that will help on the carriers too. Right now, our company is using MobileIron, which supports all 3 presently.
