BlackBerry 8520 Unlocked, newbie question
Hi there,
I'm getting interested about this BlackBerry. I don't want to add any plans though. So the question is: can I use the BlackBerry with my AT&T pay as you go? If so, what I'm gonna miss?
Thanks for any info.

Re: BlackBerry 8520 Unlocked, newbie question
Umm, there's nothing wrong with the question. It's Thanksgiving and people are with their families. Be patient. When someone has an answer they will post it. We are all volunteers.
I don't know how AT&T treats Blackberries. In theory you should be just fine with PAYG wih an Unlocked phone. However, there are exceptions, like the iPhone which can't be used even if unlocked.
Check with AT&T.Hook's Stories
Hook's Palm TX Help Page
Google (ASUS) Nexus 7, wifi+data (AT&T), Android 4.2.2, stock and un-rooted (so far
)
LG Nexus 4: AT&T (Gophone), Android 4.4.2, stock and unrooted-- and probably staying that way.

Re: BlackBerry 8520 Unlocked, newbie question
Thanks for your reply Hook.
It seemed strange to since I already posted the same question in another forum where I saw other posts were getting replies but mine. At first I thought the same was gonna happen here and it wasn't clear why.
I'll check on AT&T forums to see if I can find some more info.

Re: BlackBerry 8520 Unlocked, newbie question
Yes you can do so. My wife is using a 8520 on AT&T on the old 1 Dollar a day plan. I am using a Bold 9000 on 50 Dollars a month unlimited plan. The only drawback is no push email, but you can check your email via the web. Also use MMS for long text messages. I just returned from Chicago to St Louis.
I posted using about my use of BB in Hook's excellent thread on pay as you go.
Blessings and Belated Thanksgiving.
