Syncing to Outlook: How?

I have recently started re-using my old BB 8800, now unconnected to BIS and just a phone/messaging device/PDA.
Since I am using a different laptop and the old software was abysmal anyway, I just downloaded and installed the BB desktop software for local sync. This was primarily because I want to be able to keep the same data synced to all my devices: this BB, another (dumb)phone and a Palm device.
The other two were a snap but when I installed BB desktop, I couldn't find an option for tying to Outlook. Is it simply a matter of choosing a different sync folder? That seemed to be the only option I could find.
Can anybody tell me what I missed?

I reckon that's an option that's selected totally after the installation of Blackbery Desktop, unlike the fashion when installing Palm Desktop.

Unfortunately, I seem to be having some sort of problem with BB Desktop. Keeps crashing. I have ripped it out and downloaded it completely anew but keeps doing the same thing. Weird. If I can ever get to the Configure stage, I will change that setting.

Could it be that it must be installed under Admin privileges, or in XP compatibility mode? Just a thought.
