Database Program for Blackberry
Hi All,
I recently received a Blackberry 88something from my company. I have been a long time Palm user (since '98).
There is a database program for the Palm called Smartlist To Go. I use this program to track time spent at a client site for various tasks. The db has 411 entries for 2008. I setup another database to track expenses.
Are there any database programs available for the BB?
I read a review of HanDbase, but they said you cannot enter data on the device.
Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Database Program for Blackberry
I did some research and there were the usual brothersoft and other spurious downloads but it came down to various flavors of handbase. I used to play with databases on PalmOS but I found it was more important to keep up with stuff on the net than try to track everything on my handheld. There are 3 flavors of handbase for $29, $39 and $79. I would think you could get by with the $29 or possibly the $39 version. I would start by downloading the trial and importing your data. I'm sure you would have to import your data on windows. I would then use it for the entire trial period before paying.

Re: Database Program for Blackberry
Hey BBib,
If you read a recent review, you probably read mine... maybe, maybe not
In any case, you can input data on HanDBase Pro on the device. You just cannot create databases on the device. In other words, you'd need to create a device on your desktop and sync before being able to use it on the device. IIRC, this is different from the Palm port; you could create dbs on the go.
I like HanDBase very much, and it is one of my most used apps.

Re: Database Program for Blackberry
I made the same switch last month, and have been looking for online databases that could fill the need and so far have not found one. I also had a program that tracks birthdays, ages, and such, but haven't found that either. Any help?
