stop data service
Does anyone know how I can automatically stop the data service after it checks for any new email? This would really help me save on battery life if I can figure it out.
Thanks,
Zac

Re: stop data service
I don't know of a way that you can stop data service after each mail check unless you do it manually. You can set your email to check less frequetly. I work in a building with very poor reception which tends to kill a battery realy quick because the phone is constantly searching for a signal. I use flight mode while I am there. Of course that means that I can't receive any calls of messages. I turn flight mode off a few times a day and check for voice mail and open messaging and do manual send/receive and the put my phone back in flight mode. You can also adjust your screen brightness while phone is on battery to conserve battery. Also you can close out running programs. You may already know this but I will give the info anyway. WM5 does not close programs when you hit the X button to close them. You can close them manually by hitting Start-Settings-System-Memory-Running Programs. I do this a few times a day to close out programs running in the background. Active sync can be a problem program. I often starts itself at will and runs in the background wihout your knowledge. There are solutions in the forum. Do a search. If you cannot find a solution, tell me and I will find the link. I am sure there are more battery savers out there. I hope this helps. I probably left more than you were asking for but maybe it will help you or someone out there.
