I just received my Axim and it seems to me that the action button does not work. I press the navigation pad and the jog dial, and it seems to do nothing. Did I forget something or my Axim needs to be return? Thanks in advance

The centre of the navigation pad does not perform any function although it does click when pressed. The jog dial requires a rather firm press to activate the switch and only works when it is in the neutral centre position.

The 'fifth' button does exist, but isn't recognized by programs as a button (tried mapping it in different apps).

If you allow your backlight to turn off sitting idle, with the 'turn on when button pressed' option checked, and then carefully depress the mysterious 'fifth' button, voila! The light turns on!

It IS wired in there, and recognized by this utility... that is unless it is somehow actually linked in wih the 4 directional sensors, and the 'fifth' button actually doesn't exist at all, and the thing is one complex unit of 4 sensors and when pressing straight down, one or more of the sensors is activated turning the light on.

WHO KNOWS ;)

This functionality does have some purpose. For example, when I'm listening to music on WMP, and the screen goes dark and I want it to light up again. If I touch the screen it pauses the music. But if I just hit that pad it just lights up again without anything else happening.
