HELP with internet

cant connect to internet via external ethernet adapter? the lights shine on it but i cant get on the net? can someone specify the exact setup, and wherre i go to setup the ethernet ****? i tried making new connection, but it asks me for phone #? i dont wana make a 56k modem connection......

Ive never setup a connection on a pocket pc, and dont have my axim yet (although it did ship today YAY!). How are you connecting to the internet? Direct to a cable modem? Through a router? Through ICS? Check your dhcp, see if you have an ip, or do you need to asign one yourself?

What kind of "external ethernet adapter" are you using? Is it attached through CF slot?

it is cf and when i plug the cables in it ithe light Full-green 100-yellow and link-green light up, i am connected through a rouder, have 4 computers running through it, and what i did is took out the ethernet cable from comp1 and connected it to my dell and i cant get on net?

Did you install the drivers for it?

Find the TCPIP Control panel and see if your getting an ip from the router...you may have to do a release/renew...

not good with handhelds (handhelds dont have dos? i cannot do release renew? and the thcp where is that
