Docs to Go Sub? or plain text editor?
Hi, recently found that my new used Palm T5 is not compatible with the old Documents to Go I'd been using with my TE2. I'm not wild about putting $50 out for the latest DTG, and thought I'd ask whether anyone has found some type of substitute. Even an app that handles plain text documents (many pages) would be quite fine for what I'm trying to do. Many thanks!

Re: Docs to Go Sub? or plain text editor?
I'm not sure how that is possible. Older versions of Docs to Go are generally fine wih any version of Palm and I don't remember there even being problems with the new file system. If you are having problems syncing, most versions had problems there and many of us, myself included, just set the conduits to "do nothing." Any version f DTG from 6 on could handle native format office files right from the SD card. And don't use docx format as I think you would need version 10 or 11 of DTG for that.
If you want just a text editor, CardTXT is a good free one. There is also a really strange but really powerful free text editor you can download from mt TX help web page called Tejpwriter. The documentation should be packaged with it.Hook's Stories

Tejpwriter is something to take a look at, ĵust for its optional (use w/ anything) on-screen thumbboard

Re: Docs to Go Sub? or plain text editor?
Thanks Hook n Rick!!

Regarding DTG, I did start getting glitch messages from DTG telling me that the old version I used with the TE2 is not compatible with my T5, so what I did was run over to Chris Short's web site and order an original T5 disc ($5 plus shipping, a very nice price). I'll try installing DTG from that and will report back.
I will also look at the solutions you suggested.
Sometimes I'm just trying to wrap my head around some text and its meaning (and formatting thus is not quite so important then), so a text editor would be great... Many thanks, sure appreciate your help!!
