Default Google Play store search function doesn't work on my new HTC One S

    Hi all,

The search function worked one or two times, but now, nothing happens when I enter the name of an application. Any ideas?
    Thank you

This is an odd enough thing to go wrong that my first response would be to pull the battery if it is removable, or to turn the phone off and turn it back on if it is not. Have you tried that?

I am assuming you didn't root and start removing stuff.

Agreed with Hook... did you root and mess with Google Talk?

Clear cache and/or data (reporting should do the former).

Thank you guys. Now it works. I clear the cache and turned the device of and on. I am new with Android, so I have to learn a lot!

Meant to type "reboot" in last post, not report...

Creating cache is Android's apple a day.

    Hi everyone,

Well, it works now but I found the search function disappointing. For instance, If I enter Merriam, the Merriam dictionaries will pop up but if I enter Larousse, no dictionary is shown. I know there is one in the store, I saw it. Is there a way to get a better search in the store, an app for that?
    Thank you

When I enter "Laroussse" as the search term I get both the French dictionary and the English French Dictionary by them at the top. It even did it when I slightly misspelled.

When I enter Larousse, I get about 10 hits, including several dictionaries. One possible reason you're not getting hits is that the apps are not compatible with your device, since the Play Store App only shows you compatible apps. Have you changed screen density? This will cause a lot of apps to be marked as incompatible with your device, even if they aren't.

Try opening the store web page in any browser, or run a custom google search. Both will let you see all results regardless of compatibility.
