Installed Eyes-Free keyboard, now I can't uninstall it, it doesn't appear in App Manager
Some time ago, I don't even remember when, I installed Eyes-Free keyboard on my Galaxy Player 5. I guess it was back when I was experimenting with input methods. Anyway, I've never used this program, and didn't realize it still had it until a couple of days ago. So I decided to uninstall it. The problem is that this program does not appear in the App Manager, so I can't uninstall it. It does not appear in Titanium Backup either, so I can't uninstall from there. Strange thing is, I made a backup with TB a couple of days ago, then hard reset and restored my device, but still Eyes-Free keyboard reappeared. So my question is, how can I get rid of this program? It's not causing me any problem at all (except for the fact that I can't uninstall it). I already tried reinstalling it from the Play Store, and now it did appear on the App Manager. I rebooted just in case, then went again to the App Manager, and there it still appears. I uninstalled it, rebooted, and the app still seems to be there. Or at least some part of it, because it still appears as an input method (in settings -> Language and keyboard). I can still open its own settings panel, but if I select this input method it does not work fine, as if something is missing. Reinstalling from the Store restores functionality.
How can I get rid of a program (or its leftovers) if said program does not appear in App Manager and Titanium Backup? I've seen a few comments of reviews of this app and other users complain about the same issue (but I've found none with an answer).raspabalsa

Never run into something like that. Found this thread on XDA:
Eyes free keyboard appeared from nowhere - xda-developers
There, it looks like the problem was it was installed with a program called Talkback and Talkback is what had to be uninstalled. Could this have been installed by another program?Hook's Stories

Re: Installed Eyes-Free keyboard, now I can't uninstall it, it doesn't appear in App Manager
Thanks Hook, I hadn't searched at XDA. I'll try the fix described there: uninstall TalkBack's updates (the app itself is bundled, so can't be uninstalled by normal means).
3 minutes and one reboot later
Yes! That did it. Again, thanks Hook, I spent about half an hour looking for an answer and I never thought about checking XDA. Now I'll freeze it with Titanium Backup. I wonder if freezing it will prevent the Play Store from nagging me about updating TalkBack?
Since Eyes-Free is available as a stand-alone app in the Store, I wonder why does it not appear in the App Manager, even if it's bundled with another app?raspabalsa

Have no idea. I've never run across either app, but glad it worked. I don't have Talkback on mine, as far as I can tell.

Talkback does not appear in the App Drawer, but it does appear on my GP5's App Manager. Does it not appear in yours?
Freezing TalkBack in TB does not prevent the Play Store from nagging about the update. Since I don't plan to use TalkBack, I'll backup, then delete it with TB.raspabalsa

You are right, it is in the App Manager. I have never been asked to update it. Think I'll get rid of it too.

I've decided not to permanently delete Talkback, but to keep it on my device and updated, even if that means that I'll have to keep seeing the Eyes-Free keyboard. Turns out there might be some interaction between Talkback and other Google/system apps beyond what little I know at this time. Check here for details and more than a few wild guesses.
