I haven't done much aesthetically to Syd since she went droid, mostly I've been tweaking here and there for functionality. Originally, I just got ADW to prevent homescreen redraws, but now that I've got most of the functions I want, I figured I'd see if I could customize the appearance for something that looks less hobbled together and is more in sync.

I'm still mulling over an all-text/no-icons homescreen, but until then, this sort of suits me. It's Elegant Theme for ADW Launcher with Minimalistic Text for time date and battery. I'm not sure I'd peg many here as themers so this thread may die a quick death, but I'd love to see what you've got if you've played with it.

I'm still working on my folder situation. I've been using the widget-based Folder Organizer but it's a little laggy for me, and the speedy folders I've got on the screenshot from something else (maybe from ADW itself?) won't allow me to change their icons to differentiate them. But I forsee going from 3 homescreens to two when I get it ironed out. One for apps and 4 folders, one for various widgets (sys info, weather, toggles etc).

Nice look, Mi An. I'm not much for maintaining themes. I play with them for a bit, but usually end up with basic black background and either simple icons or text. On my Nook color, I'm down to 2 home screens for the moment. I'm not sure why two rather than 1 or 3, quite frankly. I do have a folder for news apps, but might just put those back on a home screen (where they belong! ).

I'm probably going to go XDAndroid on my TP2 in the near future. Um...does Angry Birds work on it? If so, I might have to take the day off tomorrow.

I haven't tried angry birds on any recent builds of XDAndroid, but the menus were so slow when I first tried it that I didn't even make it into a game. YMMV. CM7 for NC sounds like a more stable/mature build on better hardware, so you might be disappointed going from that to this. FWIW.

They were making progress on a different kernel version that had much better software compatibility (mostly the trouble is with apps that aren't just java, native stuff), but then there were some development splits so that kernel wouldn't work without a special build, it got confusing, and then development kind of petered out before the main build caught up. Maybe permanently, maybe just for a while.

This is my first theme. Not really sure what it would mean to maintain it, other than maybe changing default icons over. If I ever do switch over to pure text, that probably would take more effort, I'd have to make a new icon myself for everything I had. Even using Simple Text, that might get old. But this theme has a ton of included icons, so it shouldn't be too tiresome.

Afraid I'm extremely boring, black and icons, a few more less used ones on the next page and that's it

I consider my own pursuits on this front to be about as valuable as time spent playing angry birds, but since I can't do that, I put a little time into themes. It's a guilty pleasure.

Boring works. Truth be told, I've been trying to get elements of my digital productivity up to the level of post-its and 6x9 pads for years, but I'm still using post-its and 6x9s. I think I'll be in a better place in January, but I always think that. If you hadn't posted something boring, I would have mocked you for being as vain as I..., er, as vain as Syd is.

I'd actually like to get a little fancier, if it were less work. The text only theme I'd like is elegant, and would probably require a lot of elbow grease. I don't think there's a prefab solution for me. I've seen a few examples, but they were hobbled together. If I can find one again I might post it.

Jig, Angry birds will work on the TP2. Have not had success getting Angry Birds to work, but Angry Birds Rio will work. Yes, the initialization of the game is slow, yes getting into the game is slow, and yes, the game graphics are slow, but it works.

I set the CPU governor to 100% at all times, and I've overclocked my CPU to 710mhz. I don't use a task killer, but use a utility to modify when Android deems it necessary to finish and close apps. Look up System Tuner. A wonderful utility for Rooted devices. Free too!

I still haven't had time to snap my homescreen and upload it... Maybe if I can get my head above water today... maybe...

There we go. Like that calendar widget over the stock calendar widget that is built in. A fair bit more customizable. Still lacks in comparison to some of the Today plugins I had running, but it does the job. I keep the info that is important to me up front. All other apps are on the app screen. I only use one home screen.

I decided I might as well put mine up.

I've gone to a much more retro PDA look. This is vanilla Android, so the clock n weather is Beautiful Widgets, not Sense. The toolbar at the bottom has my Deja Office PIMS and phone. Above that are 4 small but handy widgets: my beer glass battery meter, a screen timer toggle (3 settings-- my power button no longer works, soI need to adjust when screen times out often), a vibrate toggle (often go in and out of this state) and airplane mode toggle (required at work where there are no cell signals, but radio will keep looking). Finally I have the four most commonly used apps besides my PIMS-- music player, Today screen, Sync for PIMS to Outlook OTA and Alarm clock.

I have an Office app desktop, Utility Desktop, Internet Desktop and a Game and Media desktop.

The background image (color is dulled in screenshot) is artwork from the cover of my kindle novel Hard Case (shameless plug).

LG Nexus 4: AT&T (Gophone), Android 4.4.2, stock and unrooted-- and probably staying that way.

Where did you get the beer glass battery meter? I love it! (and always feel sad when it's empty)
