Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
Good luck working on yours.
I'll look into the governor. What do you use to set yours? I might also consider a more aggressive minfree regime.
One thing that's different with my setup recently is I have quite a few widgets. Weather, calendar, toggles, time, sys report, battery etc. Before I just had a few folder widgets. That could be affecting my performance. I was willing to take a hit, but not being able to answer my phone isn't cool.I, for one, welcome our feline overlords.

Look up System Tuner.
Current Device: Samsung Galaxy Note II - Rooted Stock ROM
Retired Device: HTC EVO Shift 4G - (Rooted) JellyBelly ROM 4.1.2

The school year is back in session - I'm likely to be absent from here quite a bit...

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
thanks hc
I've never used it, but with a little googling, I found this.
Edit: hrrm, When I went into my script to change my minfree settings, I noticed it was set on hard to kill even though I've locked my launcher in place. You're supposed to have one or the other of those settings, but not both. Can't remember the consequences of having both wrong, but I wonder if I screwed that up last time I fiddled with it and that's why I've been experiencing slowdowns. It's too soon to tell really, but I fixed it yesterday and today has been much smoother all around.Last edited by Mi An; 11-17-2011 at 04:50 PM.

Oh my.... *gasp*
The latest update to Netflix... works on my OC'd TP2. Video lags behind audio over cellular connection. I have not tried it over wifi yet...
But... it works. Better than the previous version where it would just quit.

Wicked.
I don't have netflix anymore, but that's still cool to hear. Just pretend the movies are dubs from old Japanese cinema

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
I finally deleted my old data.img and let xdandroid rebuild it and restored settings/applications from titanium. I'm back to smooth sailing with no noticeable hangups. I don't know if it was a fluke or if this is going to be like my XP experience where I have to clean the slate every so often. I'm also OC'ing at 650mhz for the first time. I haven't yet found a situation where the clock really noticeably improves my experience. For testing purposes, I think I'll leave it this way for a week, then go back to stock and see I notice the slowdown. I bet I'm more likely to spot the slowdown than I am to notice a speed up.
I also installed bejeweled from a recent Amazon giveaway, and was surprised that it will actually run, albeit, insanely slowly. Popcap, bejeweled developer, also made Plants vs Zombies, which is basically my angry birds. That and chuzzle both instana-crashed on my build last time I tried them. I never would have imagined myself playing a game like bejeweled, I remember vaguely seeing my sister and sister-in-law both get completely lost in games like that with a blank stare on their faces like they weren't getting anything relaxing out of it but still felt compelled play. PvZ is a gateway drug folks.I, for one, welcome our feline overlords.
