I'm very excited today. There's a test kernel that made battery debugging through the notification's led optional and renabled notifications. A month or so ago, with FRX 07 I was able to disable to keyboard backlight (market: backlight off) and front button backlight (market: LEDs Hack). This means I can use my TP2 to read at night with no other light peering out, and it means I can turn the screen backlight lower and reduce eyestrain even more. In winmo 6.1 I had to deal with the keyboard backlight as I turned pages with the arrow keys. In recent builds of xdandroid, the notifications led was always on to signify the sleep state of the device. I've never had sleep issues, but some people do, and the led helps a user spot the issue before their device gets drained. Now you can toggle the debug off.

There's been a ton of development since I first installed xdandroid. Lots of little tweaks and fixes. Right now I have the ereader of my dreams, software and hardware. It's not quite as good a phone* as it is while in winmo, though GV integrates better, but I hate phones, so that doesn't weigh too heavily on me. Gaming isn't super important to me, but I do have lots of options that are a nice perk. I finally learned what sudoku was all about and I also got a killer tower defense game (tower raiders) that is shakey on my hardware, but playable. Droidwall gives me better network control than I had on winmo, and I like the way superuser works too. I feel like I've got a nice blend of control and security going, though cyanogenmod would do better.

I still haven't installed mobilenoter (Onenote for android), but I'm close to sorting out some onenote/skydrive issues I had before, so I'll likely do that soon too, and if it works as I hope it will (mobilenoter is still in development as well), I'll have the note-taking mobile of my dreams. Full sync in onenote from mobile to desktop. As for messaging and browsing, I used to hate using the on screen board for anything no matter how small, but with swiftkey I don't mind small texts or short searches, and I still get nice prediction when I use the hard keyboard for longer entries.

*BT has had a lot of progress, and even works for a few people, but is still being developed. 3.5mm output works, but mic input and inline button support are being worked on. I also have to toggle the speakerphone when making outgoing calls to get rid of some low level static.
I, for one, welcome our feline overlords.

I just took the plunge... How cool!
    Overclocking is a breeze.

Not cool - Can't get incoming phone calls. Confused!! Help?

    Welcome to the club!

Which version of the TP2 do you have? Have you upgraded it to the latest radio your carrier provides?

Did you just recently install the latest FRX7.1 or was this something you grabbed earlier? Did you use anything else? A different kernel, for example?
What happens when you try to receive an incoming call? Are you having trouble answering because of lag with the controls or is it a connection issue? What does the signal indicator indicate when the call is coming through? Do you have issues answering when you aren't OC'd?

A couple generally good tips: Have the winmo side of things placed in airplane mode before booting into xdandroid. Also, turn off GPS android-side when you aren't using it.

Which version of the TP2 do you have?
Sprint TP2. Currently running stock 6.5.3 ROM with HTC Sense. Belive that would be the RHOD 400 startup.txt file.

Have you upgraded it to the latest radio your carrier provides?
Umm... I think I'm clueless. LOL

Did you just recently install the latest FRX7.1 or was this something you grabbed earlier?
I just downloaded it yesterday (FRX7.1), and got it up and running about 20 minutes later.

    Did you use anything else?
    Nope.

    A different kernel, for example?
Saw that there were other kernels available, but wasn't sure what kernel to pick. I like it buttered is all I know. Oh... that kernel. Yeah, not sure what kernel to use! :0

What happens when you try to receive an incoming call?
Absolutely nothing. Phone just sits there happy as can be. Outgoing calls work, and so do incoming SMS and outgoing SMS. Data works too.

Are you having trouble answering because of lag with the controls or is it a connection issue?
Think it is a device issue. It doesn't do anything on my end that is audible, visible, or physical. Likely a kernel issue from what I've read, but still lost.

What does the signal indicator indicate when the call is coming through?
In my office, 1-2 bars. At home, full strength.

Do you have issues answering when you aren't OC'd?
Not OC'd at the moment. Simple text string to oc is what I should have said earlier. Have not gotten a single incoming call.

A couple generally good tips: Have the winmo side of things placed in airplane mode before booting into xdandroid.
Have not tried that, will give it a shot.

Also, turn off GPS android-side when you aren't using it.
Interesting. Will give that a shot as well.

Some of the newest RILs have had issues with older radios. I just had to upgrade mine a few weeks ago.

To determine what version is running on your device, refer to the image on the left (the newest version is pictured) and note the ROM version and Radio version. Next, go to Start > Settings > Menu > All Settings > System > Device Information on your device. If your ROM and Radio versions are different than what is pictured at left, you should upgrade.
2.32 is the latest. I'd check to make sure you have that listed in your winmo settings as described above.

We're going to need a secret handshake.

I didn't use a spare. I just plopped the files right onto the root of my existing WinMo SD card. No issues.

Well... I doubt the phone getting incoming calls is related.

Okay, nothing else is coming to mind. I'm posting the issue now to the frx7 thread, in case you aren't registered at xdandroid.

Just to be sure (no offense intended by the obviousness of the question), you did specifically know there were incoming calls you weren't receiving, right? Did you call yourself?

They might want logs that include a period when you had an incoming call eventually, which you can procure using the getlogs.apk found in the /AndroidApps/Other (can installed by moving that apk to the AndroidApps root folder before booting, that will install it automatically during the boot). They may not ask, just giving you a head's up.
