Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
Thanks
and I'm sorry it's not up to par for you either.
Good luck -- I find shopping mode to be kinda fun, at least with gadgets. I hope you find the perfect fit.

Using GBX beta 2, and I have to say I am in love with it. I believe I have found a tweak that has helped reduce if not aleviate the issues I have had with the phone apk. I am using System Tuner. I set the governor to performance. I am oc'd to 710mhz. I set the memory thresholds to aggressive, but reset the top slider to zero. If I am understanding that correctly, that is the slider that controls the system processes including the phone.apk. this should keep those from being closed. My device is peppy and responsive, and I have not missed a call this way. Your results may vary...

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
Sweet Georgia Brown. I just did that on a whim, even though I haven't had many problems with phone.apk, after seeing "sleep" listed when I tapped the info icon next to that first entry (foreground apps). Then I turned on my sleep debugging (the old led orange is awake, green is asleep thing), and turned off my phone AND bam, it slept. IT SLEPT!!!! (insert mad scientist laugh here) I had a false positive once before, but I'm hopeful here.
Son of a mother. You would not believe how much time I spent rebooting different configs to help track down the issue. This took me like 15 seconds. I would hug you if I hadn't been raised by an emotionally absent father and weren't completely incapable of physical expressions of platonic affection. You good with a fist bump?I, for one, welcome our feline overlords.

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
Thanks. I'm trying it now. It's hard for me to back away from shopping mode once I've started, but we'll see. I really like paying $30/month rather than $50, but I'm also ready to get a better, faster smartphone with all the amenities. Besides, I'm catching up to Hook in age and should at least try to be a little closer on the tech front.

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
It did work, and I left it off the charger over night to ensure it was actually sleeping, not just a false positive. That battery life overnight indicated true sleep. But since rebooting I have not been able to replicate the sleep.
I did set the boot settings to restore the settings, but it would not sleep again. I'll try some more stuff later. The good news is that I at least have a little hope I can track and repair this through performance tweaks. Hope is nice.I, for one, welcome our feline overlords.

Try turning off unnecessary apps and services with sys tuner in 'startups'. I have many items deselected there.

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
I feel the same way. Though, they nudged me to the $40 plan when I switched to the TP2. *shrug* I could move it back to the $30 plan, but it would hurt that much more once I decided to upgrade.
I have found that it greatly pains me to live in the WinMo environment. I've found great replacements for all the WinMo apps I used, and have found many more that simply don't exist in WinMo. The drawbacks of using a 'Franken Droid' seem minimal in contrast to using a dead OS. Just my opinion...Current Device: Samsung Galaxy Note II - Rooted Stock ROM
