OC'd to 650mhz. Don't notice a difference. BTW, is there a version of flash for this? Do I need it for Netflix?

Netflix is silverlight. Typically, I think gingerbread comes with flash built in. But I haven't tried it yet, so maybe our particular build doesn't.

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
Thanks. When I try to run Netflix or Feedly apps, the splash page just clocks and clocks. I never get these apps to start. I really don't care too much about Netflix, but would love Feedly to work.
I just tried SoundHound for the first time. The Nook Color lacks microphone, so even though I purchased it during Android Market's 10 for .10 sale, I haven't been able to try it. I have a few camera apps I bought that I'm anxious to try, too. This Signature Line Intentionally Left Blank

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
Jig, I was more focussed on what you said about the INCOMING calls and screening. I thought that was a GV function.

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
Ah...we're misunderstanding each other. I don't screen incoming calls with either Magicall or Google Voice. I'm guessing you thought when I said something about ignoring some numbers. What I meant is that Magicall intercepts nearly every outgoing call I make. I programmed it to ignore a few outgoing calls so that they dial normally.
Magicall has a lot of features I don't use.
By the way, another analogy to how I use Sprint + GV is how one might use a long distance calling card. When using a calling card from your cell phone, you typically call a toll-free number, enter a code, then dial your party. I have found software in the Android Market that will do this, but it doesn't appear to be as configurable to my needs. I'll continue experimenting with it.This Signature Line Intentionally Left Blank

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
I have one app that runs on other kernels, but doesn't on .27. I don't know for sure, but I think programs that use native code, not just java, are less likely to work correctly on .27. I wouldn't have thought a news reader would need native code, but who knows.

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
There's been less testing on the other branches. I recommend keeping the .27 kernel around unless one of the others do increase functionality you really want. It is also easier to get support on .27.
[TESTING] .39/3.0/3.1 kernels - xda-developers
Htc-Msm-Kernel-Autobuild
There's only one choice per kernel on that autobuild. Probably start with (2.6).39, if it doesn't help your trouble-apps run, move on to 3.0, then to 3.1.
As to how, there are two files per compressed file. One is zImage, the other is a file that starts with "modules". Move your old zImage to another directory or a directory on your PC in case you want to go back to it, then extract the testing zImage and modules file into the root of your sd card.I, for one, welcome our feline overlords.

I'm having a lot of fun playing with this. I gave up on Feedly and am happy with Google Reader. At some point, I'll need to stop playing and really learn something about what I'm doing.
Thanks, Mi An and headcronie for encouraging and helping!

Re: XDAndroid on HTC Touch Pro2
Okay, I'm back on AndroidAP, my WiFi tethering SSID. Connection was quick with my netbook, and my download speed is nearly 2MB. Very nice! When I disconnect, however, my TP2 freezes and sometimes crashes (or I pull the battery).
